Samsung's first Galaxy Tab was an exception to a slew of first generation small
format Q88
with sub-par hardware, and two years later the Nexus 7 proved that
a quality tablet no longer needs to be expensive with a sticker price of 249
euros (around £200)
Today we are aiming even lower, and picked three
tablets in the sub-£150 segment (with at least one of them costing £74). Two are
from Acer and ASUS, while the third is from a less known brand, Prestigio. Acer
sent us the Iconia Tab B1, ASUS Memo Pad and Prestigio the MultiPad 7.0 Prime
Duo. It's an interesting collection of tablets to take a closer look
at.
Let's first see what they have in common. They're all available for
less than £150. The Acer Iconia Tab B1 has an SRP of £99, the Asus tablet £125
and the Prestigio, £140. They're all three Q88 Tablet with the same resolution
of 1,024 x 600. An HD resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels, which the Nexus 7 has,
is still a bridge too far for this pricepoint.
On paper all three of
these tablets could be interesting products if you're in need of an affordable
Q88 Tablet . Now we'll take a closer look at each one individually, in
alphabetical order, and find out how they compare in terms of performance and
features.dfsWF2FR
The Q88 Tablet
from Acer has a unique look with the blue edge that runs around the
entire thing, except for the bottom left-hand corner. There's a little sticker
there as well with Iconia on it. We don't find it to be the best-looking accent,
but that's a matter of taste of course.
The power and volume buttons are
located on the right side of the Q88 Android
Tablet . At the top there's the headphone jack and at the bottom
the Micro USB port. Strangely enough it's not centered, but that of course
doesn't really affect anything. The reason for this could be that it's very
close to another feature using the same controller, which would be the microSD
slot. It's situated right next to the Micro USB port behind a cover. The B1 only
has a frontal camera, with a resolution of 0.3 MP.
