The ordinance would also ban the sale of marlboro electronic cigarette-priceangels.com

"I know a lot of people who have used electronic cigarettes. I've been in offices where people were using and there has not been not one person that I know of, that has ever been agitated by the marlboro electronic cigarette," said Clingan. In Orange Park the use of electronic cigarettes is currently allowed even in places where smoking is prohibited. The proposed ordinance before town council would change that.

Electronic cigarettes do not contain tobacco, but instead heat a liquid that can contain nicotine or flavored vapor that is inhaled by the user. The Tobacco Free Partnership of Clay County supports the ordinance and says "studies have shown that the vapor that is emitted from electronic cigarettes still contains numerous chemicals that can be harmful to someone's health."The ordinance would also ban the sale of e-cigarettes to anyone younger than 18, an effort also applauded by the Tobacco Free Partnership which states that e-cigarette use has increased by 75 percent among high schoolers in one year.

A new ordinance proposed by Orange Park would classify marlboro electronic cigarette like regular cigarettes. The town council is expected to have a final hearing Tuesday and, if passed, the ordinance would prohibit the use of e-cigarettes in places were smoking is already banned.E-cigarettes are battery-powered handheld devices that deliver an inhalable dose of nicotine or flavored vapor.

“The people who want to promote no smoking in public places also say that it sets a bad example — that kids should not see adults smoking,” Mayor Steven Placido said. “I think it’s more than just secondhand smoke that they have an issue about. From a distance, you don’t know if someone is smoking an ego t electronic cigarette or a real cigarette.”hf3d3SCs
“I really don’t know that much about these electronic cigarettes and nobody has told me yet where the harmful part of this is or where the irritating part of this is,” he said.A search on EurekAlert, a database of worldwide scientific studies, yields few studies about the health risks of e-cigarettes. The three studies that are directly related to health hazards are preliminary studies with small sample sizes.

City Attorney Joe Montes said the Food and Drug Administration likely will release draft regulations for e-cigarettes within the next 60 days. The FDA may apply the Tobacco Control Act of 2009 to the marlboro electronic cigarette machines, thus regulating an industry that isn’t highly restricted. Under this FDA control, vape vendors would no longer be able to sell their products online and large health hazard warning labels would be required.

Additionally Senate Bill  648 — authored by Sen. Ellen Corbett, D-San Leandro — is working its way through the state legislature. If passed, it would put e-cigarettes in the same regulatory box as traditional tobacco cigarettes.Placido, however, said the City Council could always change its restrictions on e-cigarettes pending the FDA’s decision. For now, Placido said he’s using common sense.

“The vapor that comes off must contain nicotine of some sort since that’s what they’re inhaling. So the leap for me to say that these electronic cigarettes are the same as regular cigarettes as far as their function in society is not a big leap for me to take.”Mansfield is the first city in North Texas to target electronic cigarettes.

The City Council voted 5-0 to put a hold on all permits for marlboro electronic cigarette shops for six months. During that time, staff members will look at the issue and consider where e-cigarettes fit into the city's smoking ordinance.Walk into Vicious Vapors in Mansfield, and you will find ex-smokers puffing on their ego battery."I feel like this thing is saving my life," said federal government accountant Bryan Heftler. "My wife is a lot happier that I'm not smoking cigarettes. I don't smell like a stinky cigarette when I get home."

Heftler said he smokes at work, and pretty much everywhere he goes."Airports, restaurants, department stores, and — of course — home, because my wife allows it," he said.Electronic cigarettes are battery-powered devices with a liquid nicotine solution that creates a vapor when heated.

The cheap electronic cigarette was introduced to the U.S-Priceangels.com

The battery devices often are made to resemble actual tobacco cigarettes. cheap electronic cigarette release water vapor laced with varying degrees of nicotine housed in a cartridge. Users then inhale the vapor as they would the smoke from a combustible cigarette.E-cigarettes are sold in most stores where tobacco products are sold and retail for around $10. E-smokers say they get the equivalent of two packs (40 cigarettes) in one electronic cigarette, a savings of nearly $10 a day for heavier smokers.

Because they contain no tobacco, e-cigarettes aren't subject to U.S. tobacco laws, which means they can be purchased without proof online. Westchester storekeepers, like Madaba Deli's Firas Marji, say the product is becoming very popular."We have the same rules with the e-cigarettes; customers have to be over 18 and have ID," Marji said. "We have a all different brands and they are selling more and more every day. People say they cost less than cigarettes, don't have the smell of smoke and can be used in bars and other places."

Many cities with public smoking bans are adding e-cigarettes to their smoking ban. The Foxborough-Norton-Mansfield area of Massachusetts modified its smoking ban to include e-cigarettes among the items that could not be smoked in schools and restaurants. King County in Washington added ego t electronic cigarette to its smoking ban.A New York law signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2012 made it illegal as of Jan. 1, 2013 to smoke e-cigarettes within 100 feet of "public building entrances or schools." This move applies the same restrictions on smoking to e-cigarettes as apply to traditional cigarettes.

Opponents of e-cigarettes also express concern manufacturers may be targeting teenagers or even children, cultivating a new generation of users because they may be considered less harmful. This raises concerns that e-cigarettes may be particularly appealing to kids and may encourage nicotine addiction among young people. While manufacturers of the e-cigarette say that it's the cigarette you can "smoke" anywhere, regulatory agencies around the world are taking a close look at them and instituting a range of restrictions on their use.

Proponents of the e-cigarette say they feel better using the device than they did when they were smoking tobacco cigarettes, and that because the e-cigarette is reusable, it saves them money."It's better than smoking two packs of real cigarettes a day," Elmsford's Ray Bennett said. "I have cut down a lot. The nicotine isn't as strong. Maybe I'll stop completely."The Center for Disease Control reported earlier this year the number of American adults who use electronic cigarettes, also called e-cigarettes, rose from 10 percent in 2010 to 21 percent in 2011.gtDM2da

"It's less expensive than smoking regular cigarettes and is not as hazardous to your health," Hastings' Jimmy Kotiadis said. "I highly recommend giving it a try if your a smoker trying to kick the habit but can't go cold turkey."

The CE4 electronic cigarette was introduced to the U.S. market in 2007 and offers the nicotine-addicted an alternative to smoking tobacco. They look more like pens than cigarettes but offer the same taste and satisfaction to smokers without the odor or second-hand smoke. E-cigarettes contain varying degrees of nicotine, including some with zero nicotine content.

Big Tobacco To Join E-Cigarette Revolution

If the giants of a particular industry adopts a new and up-and-coming item, does that bring legitimacy to the product? In the case of EGO CE4, we’re about to find out. According to reports, companies that are immediately associated with Big Tobacco–Philip Morris USA (Marlboro) and Reynolds American (Camels)–are throwing their collective hat into the growing industry of electronic cigarettes, a move that is surprising simply because of how long it took these companies to offer these vapor-driven replacements for standard tobacco cigarettes.

When you consider the fact that e-cigarettes have officially crossed over to the mainstream, thanks in large part to the commercials created by Blu, one of the leading e-cigarette companies on the market. The one featuring actor Stephen Dorff is currently in rotation, depending on what channels you watch.

As these devices gain in popularity–look, even NBA players use them–it stands to reason the companies that profit the most from traditional cigarettes would enjoy a different, perhaps less controversial revenue stream. As indicated, the two giants of the tobacco industry are preparing to launch their own version of electronic cigarettes; the “MarkTen” for the makers of Marlboro and the “VUSE” from the makers of Camel. The VUSE ego t electronic cigarette will be introduced in Colorado on July, 2013, and the MarkTen will be introduced in the state of Indiana in August. If these limited introductions succeed, expect them to be released on a national, and perhaps international scale shortly thereafter.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) said on Wednesday that existing e-cigarettes on the market were not good enough. However, manufacturers have time to raise their game and apply for a license, allowing them to sell regulated devices as over-the-counter products from 2016.

A growing number of established tobacco companies are investing in the ego-t battery market worldwide, including Lorillard, British American Tobacco, Imperial Tobacco, Reynolds American and Altria.

The primary components of electronic cigarette cartridges and vapor are propylene glycol, glycerine and nicotine. Smokers are harmed by the deadly tar and toxins in tobacco smoke, not the nicotine, said MHRA Chief Medical Officer Sally Davies in today’s statement.

Still, there has been little research into how safe electronic cigarette battery are, according to Cancer Research UK. Anecdotally, aspiration pneumonia and second-degree burns from a cigarette exploding in a consumer’s mouth have been reported, MHRA said.Researchers at the University of Athens said electronic cigarettes cause damage to the lungs, as shown in a study they presented in September at the European Respiratory Society annual meeting in Vienna.

Logic Sponsors Ablow's E-Cig Study

Electronic cigarette maker Logic Technology recently announced that Keith Ablow, M.D., will be conducting an expanded clinical study of Logic EGO CE4 in his practice to determine their effects on reducing or eliminating tobacco product usage. Previously, Dr. Ablow reported that three individuals had ceased smoking when given e-cigarettes as part of a smoking cessation regimen.

Sponsored by Logic, Dr. Ablow's study will monitor and track patients' experiences using e-cigarettes to determine the product category's effectiveness for transitioning smokers from traditional cigarettes to a tobacco-free, smokeless, battery-operated nicotine delivery device.

The study, to be conducted over a 12-week period, will offer patients who use traditional cigarettes the option to try ego t electronic cigarette. Dr. Ablow will provide participating patients with e-cigarettes and measure their use of this technology and tobacco products over the course of the 12 weeks.

Simulating the feeling and taste of a real cigarette, Logic provides a sensory experience that satisfies a smoker's addictive cravings for the nicotine, tobacco flavor, hand-to-mouth motion and vapor release, while avoiding 4,000 toxins that are in cigarettes, according to the company. Unlike other nicotine delivery devices, an e-cigarette can assuage the desire for a traditional cigarette and deliver a realistic smoking experience, the company added.fsfd3WD3x

"We are thrilled to work with distinguished psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow to conduct this study," said Eli Alelov, CEO of Logic Technology, Livingston, N.J. "Minimal statistical data exists about ego-t battery and their effectiveness in supporting a switch from traditional cigarettes, and we think it is imperative to educate the public on the benefits of this product. We think Dr. Ablow's findings will support the rapidly growing industry and prove what we have been saying for years, that Logic is a smarter alternative helping to convert American smokers to better choices."

"I reached out to Logic about this informal, expanded series of clinical case studies because I cannot understand why universities and the government are not aggressively exploring the use of electronic cigarettes to help smokers stop using tobacco," said Ablow. "I am a supporter of rechargeable electronic cigarette in aiding patients to make smarter choices with their smoking habits."

Logic will provide a findings update as the study moves forward.

Another Tobacco Brand Plans to Enter Electronic Cigarette Market

Observing the market and its customer’s choice inclining towards ego-t battery, Altria has taken this step. Marty Barrington, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Altria said “the awareness and trial of e cigarette has increased over the last year, a subject to which we have been devoting attention and product development resources.”

Adding to it he further said that the company has plans and products to market the electronic cigarette. It will certainly allow the company to compete in the emerging market that still has a tiny share compared to conventional tobacco market.dsDF34fcd

Mr. Barrington admitted that the customers using tobacco cigarette have shown interest in ego t electronic cigarette and this has made them decide to enter in the smokeless cigarette market. Presently the number is not huge but it is continuously developing.

The company has also planned to stick by the rules of FDA and wishes to reach in the list of best electronic cigarette brand. One thing has still not become clear that whether Altria is going to develop its own electronic cigarette or it will make an acquisition as it has already made in the smokeless tobacco industry by buying snuff maker UST Inc in the year 2009.

The second largest US cigarette maker Reynolds American Inc. has already entered in this business by starting limited distribution of its first electronic cigarette under the Vuse brand. Similarly, the nation’s third biggest tobacco company Lorillard Inc. has already entered in the e cig market in the month of April 2012. The brand claims to cover more than 40 per cent of the US market.

Tax writers chasing smokers, even fake ones

Like many other businessmen across the country, Jason Hagan of Greer thought the idea of starting a shop that would sell ego-t battery was a good idea.So he plowed his life savings into the Vapor Room Cafe and opened its doors last month.

Lawmakers in the House, though, want a piece of the action and are moving ahead with a bill that would levy a tax in addition to sales taxes on e-cigarettes for the first time."I have my life savings in this business. It's helped a bunch of my customers stop smoking cigarettes. The electronic cigarettes are my main business."

South Carolina is among a handful of states considering special taxes for ego t electronic cigarette, which use vapor instead of tobacco to deliver nicotine to users. For lawmakers who are supporting the legislation, the issue is more than just a tax. It also involves questions of safety, regulation, definition and how states should respond to a host of innovative alternatives to traditional cigarettes.xcTFR5DS

Tobacco manufacturers now market thin cigars that look like cigarettes except for their wrappers, some smokers buy pipe tobacco to make their own cigarettes and some individuals are making their own liquid base for electronic cigarettes, worrying some about what may be in the mixture.

"A lot of it is to just get a discussion and awareness out there," said Rep. Brian White, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee and chief sponsor of the bill. "I'm not saying it's good or bad. I'm just saying let's have a conversation about it."

Kevin Frija, CEO of Vapor Corp., one of the nation's leading ego batteries companies, told GreenvilleOnline.com that lawmakers are not looking at the big picture in trying to tax e-cigarettes.

"As far as we're concerned as a company and as an industry, I think it's a little premature to be looking at taxing until it's very clear there is a standard method of taxing. We almost feel like the government should subsidize the product because at the end of the day, the benefit of having people smoke less tobacco cigarettes over the long run will probably save the taxpayers, the states and the government."

E-cigarettes challenge interpretations of smoking bans

Taking a puff on an ego electronic cigarette isn't technically smoking, prompting some local businesses to allow customers to use the cigarettes indoors. Others still prohibit their usage, which can make it difficult for smokers and nonsmokers alike to navigate the hundreds of bars and restaurants in New Hanover County.

"They're allowing electronic cigarettes now in most of the bars I've been to," said Nathan Garrison, sales associate at Vape Hut, a Wilmington store that sells e-cigarettes on site and via its website. "Restaurants usually don't mind. I'll usually ask first, but businesses are generally becoming more tolerant."

Traditional cigarettes have been banned by law in bars and restaurants statewide since Jan. 2, 2010. But the legislation didn't specifically ban ego t electronic cigarette, which were at that time a relatively new and much less popular technology. That loophole allows businesses to make their own rules governing their usage, meaning policies vary greatly from place to place.

Sometimes, the differences are small and nuanced. For example, New Hanover County employees are permitted to smoke solely in designated outdoor smoking areas. That policy doesn't explicitly ban the usage of e-cigarettes indoors, but county workers aren't permitted to use them in the office.fds1EWS6

"The interpretation that I received from human resources is that our policy covers the intent of smoking, which would include the use of e-cigarettes," said Charles Smith, a spokesman for the county. "If HR is comfortable with that interpretation, I don't foresee a change."

Many moms out there are trying to kick the nasty cigarette smoking habit and have found a great alternative in electronic cigarettes. Considered much safer than traditional tobacco, e-cigarettes work with a censor, a microchip and a heating element to fulfill nicotine cravings without the dangers usually associated with cigar smoking.

A great resource for moms who are into ego-t battery smoking is E-cigarette-Review.net. The online review site offers detailed information about e-cigs, with emphasis on top electronic cigarette brands that have established a name for themselves in the industry.
