First look at a 10 inch tablets prototype-Priceangels.com

One of the first 10 inch tablets running the Tizen operating system is set to launch in Japan later this year. While it’s still very much a work in progress, the folks at Tizen Indonesia got a chance to check out a prototype and see how the Linux-based operating system looks on the upcoming 10 inch tablet.

Tizen is a Linux-based operating system backed by Intel and Samsung. It’s designed for a wide range of mobile devices including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and even in-vehicle systems. The tablet comes from a Japanese company by the name of Systena, or Shisutena, depending on which spelling you like better. It features a 10 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel display, a 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a microSD card slot.

It has 802.11n WiFi, a 2MP rear camera and 0.3MP front-facing camera. At this point, the prototype is running Tizen 2.0, and the software doesn’t look much different from what you’d find on a phone-sized device. The apps, menus, and icons are all just much, much larger (and animations are a bit sluggish).

Hopefully developers will spend some time optimizing the user interface and performance before the tablet launches.Tizen Indonesia says Systena plans to get Tizen 2.1 up and running on the tablet, and that at least initially it will be selling the device to developers rather than the general public. The company has been outlining its plans for 2013 and beyond at its Worldwide Partner Conference this week, and the company's tablet plans have been briefly touched upon.dfg343WEW

This would seem to confirm that there will be new versions of Microsoft's two Windows 8 tablets over the coming months. The Surface Pro only launched in February of this year, but the Surface RT launched in October 2012, so we could see a new version hitting shops in just a couple of months.Just last month it was rumoured that Microsoft would be refreshing the Surface RT with Snapdragon 800 CPUs, pointing to the first 4G-capable Microsoft tablet.

You can't polish a turd. You would need to be barmy to buy a windows RT tablet over an ipad. The ipad is the same price, a better device and tons more apps.I am a windows guy, I am running windows 8 on my desktop and laptop, but I have an ipad and iphone because they are simply the best tablet and phone.I tried 8.1, the changes are minor and no way will it make a difference to the surface sales.

The Pro version of the Q88 Android Tablet is interesting, but at the moment an ultrabook is more usable. The commercial ends with a price comparison of the two tablets. Although the iPad is available in a 16GB model, the 32GB iPad is compared instead. The Surface with Windows RT is priced at $499 for its 32GB model while the 32GB iPad is $599. The 16GB iPad is priced at $499. The tablets are also available in a 64GB model. The 64GB Surface with Windows RT is price at $599, while the iPad is $699.

The Surface with Windows RT features a screen size of 10.6 inches with 1,366x768 pixels. The Surface tablet has 2GB of RAM and two 720p HD cameras. The battery life for the Surface tablet can last up to eight hours. The iPad has a screen size of 9.7 inches with 2,048x1,536 pixels. The tablet uses a rear-facing camera with 5 megapixels and a front-facing camera with 1.2 megapixels. The iPad's battery life can last up to 10 hours.
