Despite the increasing popularity of electric cigarettes, there is still a cloud
of doubts on the health issues concerning their consumption. A recent
publication on CE4
has addressed these issues and has clarified on what medical professionals are
saying about electric cigarettes.
Primarily an electric cigarette reviews
provider, the website run by Steve Miller a daily consumer of E-Cigs for over 3
years also contains informative and insightful articles related to the latest
invention that has baffled the tobacco industry. The latest health article

assumptions are regarding their long term consumption as research is still
actively being performed. Numerous statements by prestigious doctors are given
in the article to explain how they are different than normal tar based
cigarettes and could even be better.
For example, one of the statements
by Michael Siegal, a tobacco researcher at Boston University is “Tobacco
contains 5,000 known chemicals, E-cigarettes eliminate many of those
ingredients”. The full article sharing similar statements and insightful
information that is not readily available anywhere else can be viewed on the

A good-enough cheap tablets at a great price-Priceangels.com
The cheap
tablets market was struggling during its early stages, but momentum
has picked up as we move into a mobile world. PC sales are plummeting while
tablets are on the rise. Many of you may think this is thanks to Apple’s iPad,
but such is not the case. In fact, Android is dominating the market according to
this year’s Q2 results.
That said, this tablet is absolutely terrific and it’s the one we’ll be carrying with us for the foreseeable future. The screen is absolutely unsurpassed in the small-tablet category (or arguably any tablet category), and that’s a big deal. It’s simply a joy to look at, it’s effortless to carry, it’s extremely fast, and it’s very cheap for how good it is.
The original Nexus 7 was merely a bargain, a good-enough tablet at a great price. The new Nexus 7 is a downright steal. It’s the best 7-inch tablet, period. Google has redefined budget tablet so that it no longer refers to cheap-feeling, sub-$200 devices. You can now grab a svelte, premium 7-inch tablet with a high-resolution screen, wireless charging, quad-core processor, and 2GB of RAM for a measly $229.
Strategy Analytics’ latest research shows a significant increase in Android tablets for sale shipments, while iOS continues to decline. iOS tablets account for 28.3% of Q2′s (2013) shipments, which is a significant drop from last year’s 47.2% marketshare in the same quarter.cdf5SFs4
Meanwhile, Android has gone up to 67% from last year’s 51.4%. This accounts for 34.6 million Android tablets shipped during the quarter, which is a lot when you consider Apple’s 14.6 million shipments. Android was close to doubling it’s Q2 2012 shipments, which accounted for just 18.5 million shipments.
Android took the smartphone market by surprise when it started rising out of control. No one believed Android could really take on iOS, but the numbers quickly piled up. Could it be the same is happening with tablets? The revamped Nexus 7 is more than just the next stock Android gadget offering from Google. It’s the company’s re-do of what it should have done right the first time. The search (and maps, and mail, and…) giant, with its ginormous, seemingly all-inclusive Android ecosystem, has finally entered the premium tablet market.
Android has been able to beat Apple, even with less tablet apps and the iPad’s insane popularity. It seems fame is not enough when you have Google and Android manufacturers giving you deals you can’t refuse.
The most popular Android 7 inch android tablet are much more affordable than Apple’s cheapest alternatives (iPad Mini). Not to mention they have equal or similar performance. And Android tablets that match the full-sized iPad’s price tend to have much higher specs and trending/new features.

Vapor trail may lead to big sales for EGO CE4 e-cig shops-Priceangels.com
It started with a hug, or, to be more precise, the withholding of one.“My little
sister wouldn’t give me a hug. She said I smelled like an ashtray,” said Andy
Schmid, one of the owners of Buckeye Vapors, a Grove City shop that sells
electronic-cigarette — or e-cigarette — devices and the flavored nicotine
“juice” that goes in them.
This sisterly snub led the longtime smoker to research and try CE4 e-cigarettes, which are mostly odorless. Schmid started hanging out and “vaping” at Buckeye Vapors, which was opened in May 2012 by Josh McBride and Allyn Yarger.
“I quit cigarettes in about a week and haven’t had one in a year and seven months,” said Schmid, who eventually bought a piece of the growing business.“It’s really taking off. Business is going up every month,” McBride said, adding the partners are planning to open two or three more shops and are scouting locations.Throughout central Ohio and beyond, e-cigarette entrepreneurs are opening shops, distributing e-cigarette supplies and producing and selling more products online.
One of the owners of another local e-cigarette shop has big plans for expansion.“We’re on the ground floor of this, and I really see it taking off in the next 10 to 15 years and us dominating the Midwest market,” said Dmitry Yakover of AltSmoke, which has e-cigarette shops in Columbus, New Philadelphia and Cincinnati and plans to open several more.
Another local player is Westside Vapor, which distributes e-cigarette products to about 4,000 retail outlets in Ohio and bordering states, and has a shop in Columbus on S. High Street called Just Vapors and another in Navarre, and will soon open its third in Pickerington.“We’ll probably do $4.5 million in sales this year,” said Jason Gang, owner of Westside Vapor, adding this will double the previous year’s sales. “It’s not often that a new product comes along like this. I used to own a gas station and sold thousands of cartons of cigarettes and always felt kind of guilty about it.”sfk4FSs
E-cigarette sales brought in $300 million in 2011, according to a report from Wells Fargo Securities. This jumped to $600 million in 2012 and is expected to surpass $1 billion this year. However, several issues could snuff out the rapid growth of the e-cigarette industry.Tobacco companies are among them, in particular, industry leaders Altria Group, Reynolds American and Lorillad. They have taken notice of the increasing sales and are rolling out e-cigarette products.“We are worried Big Tobacco will jump in and try and put the little guys out of business,” Schmid said.
Other issues weigh on the fledgling e-cigarette industry, including taxes, legislation and health concerns.Ohio legislators are currently looking at a bill to prohibit those under 18 from using e-cigarettes.Some opponents agree with the age-limit restriction, but say the bill as written is also an attempt by the major tobacco companies to ensure that e-cigarettes will be taxed at a lower rate than traditional tobacco.
The state currently levies a $1.25 excise tax on a pack of cigarettes, a tax that is not applied to e-cigarette products. On the health front, “one of the biggest problems is there’s a lot we don’t know about them,” said Shelly Kiser, advocacy director for the American Lung Association in Ohio. “They haven’t been around long enough for long-term studies. And since they’re not regulated by the FDA, there are no quality controls.”
E-cigarettes are cylindrical in shape and often look like a cigarette.“They’re basically little flashlights, but instead of a bulb, there’s a heating element,” Gang said, adding he sells starter kits for $12 to $15.Inhaling turns on a pressure-activated switch that heats up the nicotine-infused liquid inside, creating and releasing a vapor that is inhaled and then exhaled. Unlike tobacco cigarettes, EGO CE4 e-cigarettes do not contain tar and other chemicals, and advocates say this makes them less harmful.
“I can’t say that they’re good for you, but compared to the cigarette butt you flicked before you came into my shop, they’re much better for you,” McBride said.E-cigarette backers also say they can help longtime addicts stop smoking cigarettes.Yarger said he and his wife traded in their cigarettes for e-cigarettes five years ago, shortly before the birth of the fourth of their five children.“I wasn’t strong enough to give them up cold turkey, like Josh, and it took me about three months,” he said of giving up cigarettes. “Now, I can breather better, I can smell better and food tastes better.”
Kiser, from the lung association, disagrees, and says e-cigarettes have not been proved to be smoking-cessation devices and could encourage teens to use them, which could lead them to eventually smoke regular cigarettes.

Android’s share of the 10 inch android tablet market nears all-time high-Priceangels.com
According to the latest numbers from market research firm iSuppli, Android’s
share of the worldwide 10 inch android tablet
market has nearly returned to its all-time high from the first quarter of 2011.
In the second quarter of 2012, the Cupertino-based company shipped a combined
total of 17 million new Retina display-equipped iPads and iPad 2 tablets
combined, an increase of 44.1% from 11.8 million in the first quarter and enough
to capture 69.6% of the global tablet market.
“This marks a five-quarter high for Android’s media tablet market share,” iSuppli said. “The last time Android accounted for such a large portion of the media tablet was the first quarter of 2011, when it had a 70.0 percent share.”The company’s closest competitor was Samsung (005930), which lost market share last quarter despite an increase in channel sales. The South Korean manufacturer shipped 2.25 million tablets last quarter compared to 2.19 million in the first quarter, but its second-quarter market share fell to 9.2% from 10.8% in the previous quarter.
The research firm also notes that while Android’s competitors are having a difficult time matching the iPad’s success, they have left the door open for the two newest entries into the market — the Nexus 7 and Microsoft’s (MSFT) Surface tablet. Two years after creating the market, Android Inc. remains the king of all media tablets, with its global market share rising to nearly 70 percent in the second quarter, putting the company on pace to reclaim much of the dominance it surrendered in 2011.
Android during the second quarter shipped 17 million iPad 2 and new iPad media tablets, up a stunning 44.1 percent from 11.8 million the first quarter, according to the IHS iSuppli Display Materials & Systems Service at information and analytics provider IHS (NYSE: IHS). This industry-leading increase in shipments translated into a market share gain of 11.5 percentage points, as Android’s second-quarter global tablet share climbed to 69.6 percent, up from 58.1 percent in the first quarter, as presented in the table below.gff45DG3s
This marks a five-quarter high for Android’s media tablet market share. The last time Android accounted for such a large portion of the media tablet was the first quarter of 2011, when it had a 70.0 percent share.
“Android is making all the right moves to rebuild its dominant position in the tablet space,” said Rhoda Alexander, director, tablet and monitor research for IHS. “The company is pushing visual performance boundaries with the new iPad, while providing value customers with a lower-priced alternative, the iPad 2. With the expected entrance of the 7-inch version of the iPad in September, Q88 Android Tablet is sending a clear message that it plans to dominate this market over the long term. Android’s major media tablet rivals, Google Inc. and Microsoft Corp., hope to challenge Android in the second half of the year, but will be facing formidable headwinds with no sign that the market leader is backing off of its aggressive strategy in the market.”
“A major component of Android’s success to date is the company’s well-developed ecosystem of content and applications it had in place before entering the tablet market, and its absolute control of the hardware, software and operating system,” Alexander noted. “When a customer buys a media tablet, what he or she is really doing is purchasing a key to that ecosystem, not just a piece of hardware.”
Both firms have invested heavily in ecosystem development of their own during the past several years. While this investment benefits the Android and Windows original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners of both companies, it is not surprising to see Google and Microsoft, respectively, test the waters with media tablets of their own, especially given Android’s prolonged stranglehold on the fast-growing market.

Google gets deeper into hardware with new 8 inch android tablet-Priceangels.com
Google Inc on Wednesday showcased a new-generation, slimmer 8 inch android tablet
that the Internet search company hopes will expand its presence in consumer
hardware, and ensure that its online services remain front-and-center on mobile
devices.

The latest 8 inch android tablet, featuring a Qualcomm Inc Snapdragon processor and a higher display resolution, on July 30 will be priced at $229 for a basic version with 16 gigabytes of storage. The original year-old tablet started at $199 for an 8 gigabyte version.
Sundar Pichai, head of Android and Chrome software, said on the sidelines of an event to launch the tablet that the Internet company would make a profit off the new product. The first-generation 8 inch android tablet, which marked its initial foray into mobile electronics, was financially a break-even product for the company, analysts have said.
Google and other traditionally non-hardware companies such as Amazon.com Inc and Microsoft Corp have begun making inroads into mobile devices as consumers increasingly access the Web on the go. It introduced its first tablet in June 2012, hoping to replicate its smartphone success in a hot market presently dominated by Amazon's Kindle Fire, Apple Inc's iPad.sty5Dqdf3
Google, which gets the lion's share of its revenue from online and mobile advertising, wants the aggressively priced Nexus tablets to be a hit as more users would mean increased exposure for its ads.Its Nexus line, which include smartphones and tablets made by partners like Samsung Electronics and HTC, also serve as references for manufacturers across the globe adopting its Android mobile software system.
On Wednesday, Pichai told reporters that, since its launch, the 8 inch android tablet line alone has accounted for greater than 10 percent of all Android tablets sold. The company was on track to see 70 million total Android tablet activations in 2013, versus a pace of about 10 million at the end of 2012, he said.
According to Google, there will be more than 70 million Android tablets activated around the world by the end of 2013. Looking ahead, the next-generation 7 inch android tablet and other low-cost tablets should continue to build momentum around the platform. If Google can work its partnerships, it can seed more devices in universities and schools. However, it's more likely that Google is counting on low-cost hardware and deep textbook discounts to lure students organically -- their parents, too.
The 7-inch Asus tablet now sports a 1920 x 1200 resolution display with a pixel density of 323ppi, up from its predecessor's 1280 x 800 216ppi screen. Underneath the hood of the new tablet is a quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM — the previous year's model utilized a 1.2GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 CPU and 1GB of RAM. Battery life on the new tablet is expected to get you 9 hours of HD video or 10 hours of web browsing.

High-Resolution 8 inch android tablet Panels Debut-Priceangels.com
Making a stellar debut, high-resolution liquid-crystal display (LCD) panels
featuring pixel density of 300 pixels per inch (ppi) or more are appearing in
media 7 inch android
tablet for the first time this year, with shipments set to approach
13 million units.
Up from virtually zero in 2012, at least 12.6 million LCD tablet panels with 300-ppi-or-higher densities will ship in 2013, according analytics provider IHS. Shipments will then more than double next year and continue to climb to 55.0 million units by 2017, as shown in the figure below.
“Tablet makers want to differentiate their products, increase their market presence, boost demand and improve their profitability by offering high-performance displays. Display suppliers are supporting this trend with increased production of higher-pixel-density LCD panels that employ the latest technologies to pack more pixels into every inch of screen space. This will create a whole new class of displays with 300 ppi and higher resolution that will represent the new high end for the tablet business,” said Sweta Dash, senior director for display research at IHS.
Prior to 300 ppi, the highest resolution for tablets was in the 251- to 300-ppi range, where Apple’s 9.7” iPad 3/4 and the 9.0” Barnes & Noble nook HD+ belong. Panel shipments for this resolution segment are forecast this year to reach 67.2 million units, up 47% from 45.7 million in 2012.Below that segment are tablet panels in the 200- to 251-ppi range, home to the 7.0” Amazon Kindle Fire HD and the 10.0” Google Nexus 10. Panel shipments here are projected this year at 22.8 million units, up 88% from 12.1 million.
Examples of the new 300-ppi panel for tablets could be seen at the recent Society for Information Display (SID) conference in Vancouver, a prominent industry event where panel manufacturers discuss new technologies and advances in the field. At the event in May, LG Display showed a 7” high-definition tablet panel of more than 300 ppi, while rival Samsung Electronics countered with a 10.1” 300-ppi tablet panel.
Taiwan’s Innolux also had its own offering—a 6” high-definition, low-temperature polysilicon panel at 368 ppi.For the notebook business in particular, where sales have suffered as consumers defected to smartphones and 8 inch android tablet, high-resolution displays could be what mobile PC manufacturers need to entice consumers to replace their older laptops. The new displays can be deployed to make products stand out from the rest of the field, create new demand among consumers, and boost revenue and profitability, IHS believes.fd5aDJK6
In other words, while it looks like Wacom’s mobile tablet runs Android, you may be able to use it to interact with full-blown Windows apps such as Photoshop, Lightroom, or other professional graphics software.
There’s still no word on a price or launch date for the tablet — and it’s best to take benchmark results spotted online with a grain of salt. It’s not that hard to fake these things. But there’s nothing unreasonable about the idea of a Wacom tablet with a Tegra 4 chip, a 13 inch full HD display, and Android software — especially if there’s support for using the mobile tablet as a graphics tablet for PC apps.

UH researchers report new findings on EGO CE4 electronic cigarette use-Priceangels.com
University of Hawaii Cancer Center Prevention and Control Program researchers
found that smokers who use electronic or e-cigarettes as a tool to stop smoking
tend to be younger and more motivated to quit smoking as compared to other
smokers.
Dr. Pallav Pokhrel and Dr. Thaddeus Herzog found that approximately 13 percent of smokers had tried CE4 e-cigarettes as a means of quitting smoking. They also found that smokers who had tried e-cigarettes for smoking cessation help were younger and had been smoking for fewer years compared to other smokers.
The Hawaii-based survey analyzed responses from self-identified smokers who had consumed at least three cigarettes per day and at least 100 cigarettes in their lifetime. The survey asked participants if they had ever used e-cigarettes to quit smoking and captured additional demographic information.
The study also assessed participants’ nicotine dependence, number of quit attempts in the past, and motivation to quit smoking. If e-cigarettes are found to be relatively safer and effective as cessation aids, the appeal that they have for younger adults should be used to enhance smoking cessation among younger smokers,” Dr. Pokhrel said. “Conversely, if e-cigarettes are ineffective as cessation aids and are potentially a risk, strategies need to be developed to help younger smokers find effective cessation aids.”dr4sbfvcD
The study also found that Native Hawaiians were significantly less likely to use e-cigarettes than whites.Smokers who had used nicotine replacement gum, patches, bupropion, or varenicline were two to four times more likely to have used e-cigarettes as cessation aids.Further analysis revealed that motivation to quit smoking was higher among those who tried e-cigarettes than those who tried other cessation aids such as nicotine replacement gum or patches.
“Despite the lack of firm evidence regarding safety or effectiveness, e-cigarettes appear to have become cessation aids of choice for some smokers who appear to show a relatively higher motivation to quit smoking,” Dr. Herzog said. “Thus, this study confirms the importance of promptly developing appropriate e-cigarette regulations that address smokers’ use of e-cigarettes as cessation products.”
Let's pause and think before we inhale the hype of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes). As is the case with conventional cigarettes, e-cigarettes deliver nicotine, an addictive drug. Beyond their addictive quality, the health consequences of e-cigarettes are largely unknown.
These facts suggest that EGO CE4 may well serve as training wheels for other drug use and addiction and most states do not restrict the purchase of these products by children. Are we okay with our 8- year-olds being able to buy e-cigarettes?
From Big Tobacco's sales and marketing perspective, these unregulated products will be a gold mine. As the tobacco industry knows only too well, the best way to get a lifetime user is to start them early. This explains current e-cigarette marketing tactics that revive the old glamorous promotional cues which for decades have attracted young people to the deadly habit of cigarette smoking.
From device to packaging, e-cigarettes are designed to look exactly like a traditional cigarette but without the harsh flavor or burning sensation when inhaled. This would seem to produce a greater likelihood of second use, third use, and so forth, setting the user on a faster path to addiction and guaranteeing sales for years. Flavoring the "e-juice" with cherry, peach and menthol creates direct appeal to children and adolescents. Clever advertising by the tobacco industry makes e-cigarettes the perfect bridge to other addictive substances including conventional cigarettes. Once again the tobacco industry is marketing the disease of addiction.

Americans are upgrading their GT-I9300 smartphones as carriers launch new programs-Priceangels.com
Both T-Mobile and AT&T announced programs to encourage more frequent
smartphone upgrades, at a premium price. According to data reported in this Wall
Street Journal article, Americans are upgrading their devices less often as
innovation slows and current smartphones are more than adequate for their
needs.
Since I cover GT-I9300 smartphones here, I tend to upgrade more often than regular consumers. However, I have indeed noticed a slowdown in smartphone purchases that I have made over the past year and am regularly keeping phones for more than six months and sometimes up to a year.
James requested reader feedback in his next big thing in smartphones post and it is tough to come up with the next big "wow" factor that will have people upgrading more often. Most all smartphones have great displays, decent cameras, ability to run thousands of apps and cool designs.
US carriers, other than T-Mobile, heavily subsidize phones, so they haven't made it easy to upgrade in the past. The new AT&T program, when compared to T-Mobile, charges the customer for the price of the phone while also essentially charging the customer the subsidy as well (it is rolled into the higher monthly plan fees). In order for people to jump on this plan, there have to be devices that encourage more frequent upgrades.
My situation was that I went with the HTC 8X, which I was happy with overall, on Verizon. But I really wanted a solid Nokia. The 928 came out, my daughter is old enough for a phone and she picked WP8 over iPhone (daddy's girl, what can I say?) so she got the 8X and I got the 928. A win for everyone. And I'll likely go to the latest 8.1 hardware when it comes out since I still have an upgrade floating about. Do I NEED more than what my phone currently has? Not really. Do I WANT it? Absolutely.sdM6Scfs
The most popular GT-I9500 S4 phone pushed by the carriers - the plasticky Samsung Galaxies - have removable batteries, and it's a lot easier to get batteries now that everyone buys the same 1 or 2 phones in America. The carriers shot themselves in the foot with their greedy lack of diversity and kowtowing to Samsung.

Plus, yes, phones are already good enough. The galaxy iv was no real upgrade, and the sequel to the Note came out way too soon. The truth is that the iPhone jump started the whole smartphone revolution: and the smartphone has actually been the fastest adopted technology of all time. Greater market penetration more quickly than anything anyone has ever invented before. Which is and was great: but now that market is maturing and things only get more difficult and more boringly normal from here on in.
Assuming Dediu's estimates are accurate, that means the mobile industry will snare more than 13 million smartphone users in the U.S. before 2013 ends. Almost 60 percent of the U.S. population owns a N7100+ Note 3 smartphone, according to Pew Internet and ComScore. And despite concerns about saturation, the rate of adoption is actually growing, Dediu said.
Around 2.5 million more people began using a smartphone during the three months ending in May as compared with the three months that ended in April, Dediu added.

Samsung offers LoJack, kill switch for GT-I9300 smartphone-Priceangels.com
For $30 a year, owners of the Samsung GT-I9300
smartphone can either track it or render it useless if it's lost or
stolen.Because the new anti-theft LoJack feature is nearly impossible for a
thief to shut off, it's considered far superior to apps that offer tracking and
remote-wipe services. The S4 is the first smartphone to carry the technology for
consumers.

The LoJack service from Absolute Software has long been available for laptops, and more recently for tablets. But with smartphone theft becoming common and deadly, the company wanted to give consumers a stronger option to recover stolen or lost mobile devices.
Prosecutors and law enforcement officials nationwide have been demanding that smartphone makers embed strong theft-deterrence technologies in phones. And Samsung’s move with its 3-month-old Galaxy S4 is being applauded as a step in the right direction.Smartphone major BlackBerry today unveiled its latest touch and type handset Samsung at a price of Rs 24,990, which will be available in the market from July 20.
"The BlackBerry Samsung smartphone offers the full BlackBerry 10 functionality as well as access to the growing catalog of BlackBerry 10 apps. With its physical QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen, it gives customers the best of both worlds," Managing Director for India at BlackBerry, Sunil Lalvani said.
BlackBerry Samsung launch price is closest to Chinese firm Huawei's Ascend Mate smartphone which was launched around a month back with 4050 mAh (milliampere-hour) battery. Blackberry Samsung has 2180 mAH non-removable battery. BlackBerry Samsung GT-I9500 S4 has 3.1 inch screen, comes with 8 Gigabyte of in-built storage, 5 megapixel rear camera with auto focus and flash, 2 MP front camera. The phone has 1.2 Ghz dual core processor. fg342GFD
The past one month has seen a series of smartphone launches in India by players including Micromax and LG, which has reworked its strategy to revive mobile phone business.BlackBerry Samsung is among highest priced phone, after LG Optimus G Pro, that had been launched in India within last one month. Micromax launched it Canvas 4 phone for Rs 17,999.BlackBerry Samsung, however, is priced at half of its most expensive model - Q10.
Without a Jump plan, the only way to upgrade is to pay off the full price of the phone every time. The actual amount you pay at the time of upgrading depends on how many months have passed, but no matter what, you’ll end up paying upwards of $600 for a new phone, every time. (The Galaxy S4, for instance, costs $630 at full price.)
If you’re only upgrading once a year, or less often, avoid T-Mobile Jump. With the N7100+ Note 3, you’d pay $1,260 over two years. That’s $90 more than with Jump, but don’t forget you can keep your original phone, or trade it in to a site like Gazelle to make up the price difference. And unlike Jump, you’re not throwing money away if you decide not to upgrade immediately at the one year mark.

Massive BlackBerry Air Gesture i9500 S4 Smartphone Leaks-Priceangels.com
New photos and video show off the 5-inch screen of the upcoming BlackBerry A10,
the company’s rumored BlackBerry 10 powerhouse smartphone. The leaked photo of
the BlackBerry A10 comes from BGR, and it shows a new BlackBerry smartphone that
takes a few design cues from the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4. The top half of
the phone looks relatively similar to the Air
Gesture with a black bezel that extends to the edge of the phone,
while the bottom half has a metal strip below the bezel like the HTC
One.
A YouTube video of the BlackBerry A10 shows the same device running BlackBerry 10, swiping through apps and launching the Settings app. The phone looks bigger than the BlackBerry Z10 in the hand, which supports the idea that it will have a 5-inch display. The display would make it the largest device yet to run BlackBerry 10.
Unfortunately, while the BlackBerry A10 will likely use a 5-inch display, it will only have a 720p resolution (1280×720). Other phones of its size including the Galaxy S4 and Sony Xperia Z have 1080p displays (1920×1080). Those other phones have a much higher pixel density than the BlackBerry A10 will likely have, making the displays sharper.
The BlackBerry A10 will likely come to market sometime later this year. There are no rumors about pricing or carrier support for the Air Gesture S4 phone yet. If it does come out later this year it will compete with the next iPhone and the next generation of Android phones such as the rumored LG Optimus G2.
Controlled leaks aren’t new – they’ve been happening for as long as I can remember, and you might be surprised that they are often initiated by high level executives at phone makers and carriers alike. It’s just a new form of marketing, though it’s admittedly a bit weird. The idea is to help build hype around a smartphone before it’s launched, but without revealing everything about the device.
We might get a few tidbits on what the phone looks like from the back, or maybe what kind of new display technology the phone might pack, and it keeps us guessing and writers reporting on each new phone. It creates headlines. It makes stories. And it gets customers excited, likely in the hopes that these customers will hold out on buying any other device in the meantime.fgvdsa3SD
By controlling a leak, a company can make sure that the facts are accurate. If it has any suspicions that someone else might leak a device, the firm can make sure that the expectations for a new Air Gesture i9500 S4 phone, whether it’s the HTC One Mini or the Moto X, are in-line with launch plans. A leak detailing an octo-core phone could be wrong and throw consumers off, but a leak detailing the correct processor, specs and release timeframe can help HTC, Nokia or any other firm give consumers just enough information to build excitement.

The GT-I9300 smartphone launch event-Priceangels.com
In February, agents from the FBI, the Secret Service and the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco and Firearms raided Wireless Buybacks' warehouse in Elkridge, Md., and
found the facility was being used to store stolen phones, according to Sprint.
Law enforcement declined to comment about the raid, citing an ongoing
investigation.
In court documents, Wireless Buybacks said it "does not knowingly transact business with anyone involved in burglaries or armed robberies" and conducts "a rigorous screening process" to ensure it doesn't buy stolen phones.Kevin Lowe, co-founder of Wireless Buybacks, has said that his company supplies GT-I9300 phones to "some of the largest retailers in the country." The company generates most of its revenue from a contract to supply cell phones to Best Buy worth about $45 million each year, the company said in court documents.
Best Buy has no plans to cut ties with Wireless Buybacks. "At this point, these are accusations that haven't been substantiated," a company spokesman said. But Baldinger, Sprint's attorney, said the lawsuit reveals how many U.S. consumers are unwittingly buying stolen phones."There are lots of consumers walking around with phones they think they got legitimately from a national retailer," he said, "when in fact the phones were stolen during armed robberies."The middlemen at the center of the global trade in stolen smartphones organize themselves into distinct roles.
Many hire hackers who use special software to "unlock" the devices, enabling them to connect with wireless networks around the world, according to Lt. Then, they erase the data on the handsets, often within an hour after the device is stolen.fd23QD23rs
"They completely erase them so the phones can't be identified by who they belong to," Santos told HuffPost. "They want to sell a clean phone that can't be traced."Traffickers later repackage GT-I9500 S4 phones in boxes with the manufacturer's logo, power chargers and instruction manuals in the native language of their destinations, according to Sprint.

Finally, they ship them overseas, mostly to Hong Kong, where they are distributed across Southeast Asia, said Baldinger, Sprint's attorney. Many phones are also shipped to Dubai, Israel and Latin America. In 2011, Ace Wholesale shipped dozens of iPhones and Samsung Nexus phones to Go Telecom HK and Mobile Planet HK, according to invoices obtained by Sprint. Most traffickers ship phones in large cardboard boxes via FedEx and UPS, according to Deaven, the Homeland Security agent. The destination of stolen N7100+ Note 3 phones often depends on the provenance of the traffickers."Here in San Francisco, a lot of people have ties to Mexico," San Francisco police Sgt.

First look at a 10 inch tablets prototype-Priceangels.com
One of the first 10 inch
tablets running the Tizen operating system is set to launch in
Japan later this year. While it’s still very much a work in progress, the folks
at Tizen Indonesia got a chance to check out a prototype and see how the
Linux-based operating system looks on the upcoming 10 inch tablet.

Tizen is a Linux-based operating system backed by Intel and Samsung. It’s designed for a wide range of mobile devices including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and even in-vehicle systems. The tablet comes from a Japanese company by the name of Systena, or Shisutena, depending on which spelling you like better. It features a 10 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel display, a 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a microSD card slot.
It has 802.11n WiFi, a 2MP rear camera and 0.3MP front-facing camera. At this point, the prototype is running Tizen 2.0, and the software doesn’t look much different from what you’d find on a phone-sized device. The apps, menus, and icons are all just much, much larger (and animations are a bit sluggish).
Hopefully developers will spend some time optimizing the user interface and performance before the tablet launches.Tizen Indonesia says Systena plans to get Tizen 2.1 up and running on the tablet, and that at least initially it will be selling the device to developers rather than the general public. The company has been outlining its plans for 2013 and beyond at its Worldwide Partner Conference this week, and the company's tablet plans have been briefly touched upon.dfg343WEW
This would seem to confirm that there will be new versions of Microsoft's two Windows 8 tablets over the coming months. The Surface Pro only launched in February of this year, but the Surface RT launched in October 2012, so we could see a new version hitting shops in just a couple of months.Just last month it was rumoured that Microsoft would be refreshing the Surface RT with Snapdragon 800 CPUs, pointing to the first 4G-capable Microsoft tablet.
You can't polish a turd. You would need to be barmy to buy a windows RT tablet over an ipad. The ipad is the same price, a better device and tons more apps.I am a windows guy, I am running windows 8 on my desktop and laptop, but I have an ipad and iphone because they are simply the best tablet and phone.I tried 8.1, the changes are minor and no way will it make a difference to the surface sales.
The Pro version of the Q88 Android Tablet is interesting, but at the moment an ultrabook is more usable. The commercial ends with a price comparison of the two tablets. Although the iPad is available in a 16GB model, the 32GB iPad is compared instead. The Surface with Windows RT is priced at $499 for its 32GB model while the 32GB iPad is $599. The 16GB iPad is priced at $499. The tablets are also available in a 64GB model. The 64GB Surface with Windows RT is price at $599, while the iPad is $699.
The Surface with Windows RT features a screen size of 10.6 inches with 1,366x768 pixels. The Surface tablet has 2GB of RAM and two 720p HD cameras. The battery life for the Surface tablet can last up to eight hours. The iPad has a screen size of 9.7 inches with 2,048x1,536 pixels. The tablet uses a rear-facing camera with 5 megapixels and a front-facing camera with 1.2 megapixels. The iPad's battery life can last up to 10 hours.

HP drops price of Slate 7 Android tablet by $30-Priceangels.com
Companies can spin it any way they like, but discounting a new product — whether
as a limited-time offer or a permanent price drop — is never a good sign. Such
would appear to be the case for HP, which has already dropped the price on its
much-ballyhooed Slate 7
inch android tablet, released in April, by $30.
When the company announced the Slate 7, its low starting price of $169.99 was one of its main selling points in the fiercely competitive tablet market. So the fact that HP has recently and quietly lowered the cost to $139.99 suggests that even that budget price was too high to muster sufficient sales. The $30 discount also applies to the pricier configurations with 16GB of capacity and optional red color choice.
Reviews for the Slate 7 have been middling at best, which may have blunted demand. For instance, our sister site CNET found that the tablet suffers from mediocre hardware, including a 1,024x600 resolution screen and lackluster cameras, and the lack of a gyroscope.
What do you make of HP's decision to lower the price of the 8 inch android tablet? Does it make you more likely to buy one? Or does it mean that it's one step closer to the dustbin, joining the company's other tablet failures like the Slate 500 and TouchPad?I'd opt for the new Novo 8 Discovery tablet that launched in June -- and is on sale this week for $159, normally $169 at Tablet Sprint.ds4324SG

The Novo 8 Discovery compares to the 8-inch mini iPad and offers fast Quad core performance and Bluetooth connection... and the 8" size is almost as compact as a 7" tablet but offers 65% more screen space to play with, which makes quite a difference in user experience. It also offers MicroSD storage, 16GB Memory, HDMI, a front webcam & 2 Megapixel rear camera, Bluetooth, a powerful 5000 mAh battery, and Google Play preinstalled with access to over 400,000 Apps -- Tablet Sprint also features $25 in free Bonus Apps that include an MS Office suite and several premium 3D Games, including Shadowgun.
Price was the only real strong point of the tablet, but even then there were better choices already competing with it. Typically with better hardware at similar or lower prices.Perhaps do something like release every tablet with an Android and Windows model. Same with phones.
At this price, this is one of the nicest under 150$ 7" tablets. Most don't have Bluetooth or a rear facing camera. Beats audio is waste on a budget tablet. This has to be the worst time to release a 7 " inch tablet. Samsung just released the Tab 3. Google and Amazon will release the Fire and Nexus updates soon (possibly any day). In the sub 150$ range I would recommend it, but for me I will wait to see the Fire and Nexus.

Smart phone: 30 years in the making-PriceAngels
top 10
cell phones have become such ubiquitous tools for work and personal
business that it’s easy to take them for granted, even only a few years after
they first appeared. And they have revolutionized how public-sector agencies do
business. But they didn’t just spring from Steve Jobs’ mind — the technology
behind them can be traced back to GCN’s beginnings, and further, into government
research projects. Here’s a brief look at what’s behind a smart phone’s key
components.
The first analog cellular system, now known as 1G, was introduced in 1978. Cell phone use took off in the 1990s with 2G networks. 3G (mobile broadband) appeared in 2001, and by 2011 was giving way to 4G (WiMax and lTE), which uses IP packet switching.
The first multitouch device was created at the University of Toronto in 1982. The HP 150, among the first touch-screen computers, appeared the next year. Improvements over the years came with the Apple Newton (1993), Sony’s SmartSkin (2002) and other technologies. Touch screens took a leap forward in 2007 with the first iPhone. For the surface, many phones use Gorilla Glass.Once the province of PCs, workstations and supercomputers, dynamic random access memory has been showing up in larger doses as smart phones get more sophisticated. According to one study, in 2011, no phone had more than 800M of DRAM; today, 4G, 8G and even 16G are becoming common.
In late June, New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman filed an emergency petition with state regulators to stop Verizon from replacing copper lines with alternatives in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York. He says seasonal residents who find their Latest Smartphones lines don’t work at their summer homes are steered by Verizon to its Voice Link wireless product. Only if the customer forcefully refuses will Verizon restore the copper phone line, he says. Verizon says Voice Link is just an option available to customers.fdf2Fsd2d
In New Jersey, state regulators are talking to Verizon about Mantoloking but haven’t approved the landline-to-wireless switch that Verizon has already started. It could, at least in theory, deny Verizon’s application and force it to rewire copper phone lines back into the town.In Washington, the Federal Communications Commission is looking at an application from the country’s largest landline phone company, AT&T Inc. AT&T isn’t dealing with storm damage, so it has the leisure of taking a longer view. It wants to explore what a future without phone lines will look like by starting trials in yet-to-be-decided areas.
At Public Knowledge, Feld agrees with AT&T’s deliberative approach. Among the issues that need to be looked at, he says, is whether consumer protections that apply to landline phone service should apply to whatever replaces it. For instance, if a consumer misses a monthly payment, Buy Cell Phones companies are prohibited from cutting landline phone service right away.
Sean Lev, the FCC’s general counsel, said in a blog post that “we should do everything we can to speed the way while protecting consumers, competition, and public safety.” But he also points out that most phone companies aren’t set to retire their landline equipment immediately. The equipment has been bought and paid for, and there’s no real incentive to shut down a working network. He thinks phone companies will continue to use landlines for five to 10 years, suggesting that regulators have some time to figure out how to tackle the issue.

Following last month’s launch of new 7 inch newest
tablets with MediaTek processors, Lenovo is now selling a 10 inch
model with an MTK8125 quad-core processor. You can pick up the Lenovo IdeaTab
S6000 from Lenovo for $255 when you use the coupon code JULY4PRICINGEVENT. Best
Buy is also selling the tablet for $280.
The IdeaTab S6000 is a budget tablet with a 10 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. Lenovo says it’s part of the “enhanced multimedia line,” which basically means it has an IPS display and stereo speakers.

But budget tablets have come a long way in the last few years, and this model has most of the things you’d expect from a decent Android tablet, including 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, up to 9 hours of battery life, and Android 4.2 software. Lenovo also says an optional Bluetooth keyboard will be available.
The tablet has a micro HDMI port, a microSD card slot, a 5MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front-facing camera. It weighs about 1.24 pounds and measures about a third of an inch thick.
Here are the down-sides: The MediaTek quad-core processor is an ARM Cortex-A7 chip, which means it won’t offer the same performance you’d get from a model with a more powerful architecture like Arm Cortex-A15 or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600. The 1280 x 800 pixel display is also starting to look a bit dated, at a time when 10 inch tablets with 1920 x 1200 pixel or higher resolution screens are becoming common. And according to the Best Buy website, the IdeaTab S6000 has a 4-point capacitive multitouch display, while many tablets have 10-point touchscreens.

More people are using tablets and smartphones than ever before. According to IDC, tablets and phones will finally outsell laptops this year. Walk into any meeting in corporate America and you’ll see people in lean-back positions, typing on tablets and phones.fdf2Fsd2d
There are reasons this tablet is selling for $255 instead of $400 or more.Hewlett Packard (HPQ) hastily exited the tablet market by shuttering its TouchPad during its early phase of its restructuring plan. The company had spent $1.2 billion on Palm's WebOS, which was supposed to give the company a position in mobile tablets and smartphones. Now that HP realizes it still needs to be in this market, the company is choosing the Android operating system to power the Slate 7, a tablet computer.

HP is also positioning itself in the budget market, by pricing the Q88 Tablet for US $170. For shareholders and users, the tablet strategy is unlikely to be a positive catalyst. HP will likely fail to succeed in the tablet market with the Slate 7. As it will be discussed further, the main reasons the tablet strategy will fail are brutal competition and a lack of differentiation.

New smart phones, Android and iOS reviews-PriceAngels
New A7100
phones are continually coming out. Which should you buy? Here's a
summary of The Associated Press' recent phone reviews, including the latest on
Google phones running a pure version of Android. Many of the features, however,
make the phone more complicated to use. In some cases, custom features work only
some of the time. In other cases, you're confronted with too many ways to do
similar things. The S4 might be for you if you don't mind spending time
customizing it. Otherwise, you must bypass all the gimmicks to get to what
otherwise is a good phone.
The One is a phone that can match Apple's standards of feel and finish. Plastic and metal are joined together so well that you can't tell by feel where one ends and the other starts. The 4.7-inch screen is also quite a sight, its 468 pixels per inch among the best. Two front-facing speakers give you real stereo sound when turned sideways to watch a movie. HTC's camera has a lower resolution than most. Promises of better low-light shots from its larger sensors only partly delivered. Like other Android phone makers, HTC adds confusion by customizing the interface. There are four different "home" screens from which to launch apps, for instance. The One is worth checking out as an alternative to the Galaxy S4 from Samsung, which also adds complication with its custom features.df24ggEDsd
Google has worked with both Samsung Electronics Co. and HTC Corp. to come out with a "Google Play" edition of the Galaxy S4 and HTC One phones. Instead of using customized software from Samsung and HTC, the Google phones run a pure version of Android, as developed by Google. Essentially, the Google versions of these phones are replicas of the originals, with most of the bells and whistles removed. That's a good thing, as many of those "improvements" added to Android by Samsung and HTC actually make the phones more complex to use. The bad news: The Google edition of the S4 sells for $649, while Google's HTC One goes for $599, compared with the $100 to $200 that you can typically get the original models for with a two-year agreement. And the phones don't work on Verizon and Sprint's CDMA networks.
The Q10 is a successful marriage of the modern touch-screen I5 MTK6577 smartphone and the iconic BlackBerry keyboard. The interface takes time to get used to, and it doesn't have the simple immediacy of the iPhone. But once you learn it, you can positively zip between tasks. The downside to the new BlackBerry 10 operating system is its relative dearth of third-party software. In addition, the keyboard eats up space that could be devoted to a bigger screen, leaving the Q10 with a square, 3.1-inch screen. Nonetheless, the Q10 is likely to be attractive to the BlackBerry faithful, and it deserves serious consideration from Android and iPhone users as well.
The Z10 is the first phone to run RIM's new BlackBerry 10 operating system and comes across as a very good stab at regaining at least some of the cachet of the BlackBerry. But the Z10 looks like every other smartphone on the shelf. It's a flat black slab with a touch screen, measuring 4.2 inches. Only once you turn it on do the differences become more evident. Older BlackBerrys are great communications devices, but are poor at multimedia and at running third-party apps, something the iPhone excels at. The new BlackBerry 10 software is a serious attempt at marrying these two feature sets.

Cell phone scam draws prison term-PriceAngels

Brown, 41, was allowed to remain free for up to 60 days before reporting to federal authorities to begin serving her sentence. U.S. District Judge Ann Aiken recommended that Brown be incarcerated in a women’s prison in Northern California.
In a crime that sent ripples through one of Eugene’s most prominent companies as well as her own extended family, Brown used her position with Papé to order cell phones for the company that she then diverted to her own use. She sold them over the Internet auction site eBay, ultimately taking in an estimated $305,000.
Over a period of about two years, Brown ordered and sold 5,107 smartphones. She bought more than twice as many phones as the company had employees, a Papé manager said.dsTP2fd38
Over the years, Brown earned not only the trust but the friendship of her boss and co-workers, Shaun Swift, the information services director for Papé and Brown’s immediate supervisor, said in court. Brown had become more than an employee and was considered a family friend who was close to his wife and daughter, Swift said.
It wasn’t until Sprint, the wireless company that supplied the phones, contacted company officials about discrepancies in their purchases that the scheme started to fall apart. When Papé looked into it, Swift said, he was thunderstruck at the extent of the betrayal.Papé faced a huge potential liability because the phones were sold at a steep discount on the condition they be activated with a two-year contract with Sprint. But once Brown sold the GT-I9300 phones, the owners could sign with a different company, depriving Sprint of substantial revenue.
But Brown will be held liable for any amount the company has to pay Sprint for missing the benchmarks. She will have to pay that amount before repaying the $305,000 she earned from selling the phones.Brown already has deposited $21,000 with the court, most of it from selling a home she purchased using money from the phone scam for the down payment. That money will go to Papé.
Technology Addiction: Warning Signs of A Cell Phone Addict-PriceAngels
Do you constantly check your i9500
S4 cell phone for e-mail alerts, news updates, and the weather? If
so, you could be one of the 66 percent of people who suffer from "no mobile
phone phobia" — nomophobia — the fear of being without a cell or mobile phone,
says SecurEnvoy, a UK-based Internet security and mobile technology firm who
conducted the survey. Living in a revolutionizing digital age where everything
is fast, instant and, most importantly, on-the-go, people are disengaged from
having one-on-one face interactions.
While Apple applications like FaceTime, and the program Skype help reinforce personal connections, the unhealthy usage of cell phone devices continues to escalate. According to the Morningside Recovery Rehabilitation Center, the average American spends 144 minutes a day using their phone. For those who suffer from nomopohbia, the fear of being disconnected from the virtual world is heightened when they are restrained from checking their phone.
The lives of cell phone addicts are so contingent on their need to feel socially connected on their phones that without mobile technology, they begin to express a sense of vulnerability that can trigger certain moods and behaviors."Cellphones are addictive in the same way slot machines are," said Dr. Fran Walfish, child, couple, and family psychotherapist and author in Beverly Hills, Calif., to Medical Daily. "The immediacy of response, gratification, and excitation combine to make the user want more and want more now."
This type of addictive behavior can be explained in a situation where a person is dining by themselves. Despite no sounds or alerts coming from the cellphone, addicts will take out their phones from their pocket and start to press buttons or scan their phones with their fingers for a sense of safety and security. While back-and-forth communication through text or e-mail is seen as a threat to replacing nose-to-nose contact, it is when you are alone with your mobile device that heightens this addictive behavior. The inability to sit by yourself in a public setting without reaching for your phone can be a means to cope with loneliness but it can also be detrimental to your mental health.dsTP2fd38
Researchers have indicated that 77 percent of people aged 14 to 24 are nomophobic, compared to 68 percent of those aged 25 to 34. College students are most susceptible to developing the cell phone addiction because they are considered to be the heaviest users of information and technology with an increased usage of smart phones throughout the day. In a study conducted at Baylor and Seton Hall Universities, researchers evaluated cell phone, instant messaging, and texting addiction among college students.
The average college student sends and receives approximately 109.5 text messages a day and checks their phone 60 times per day. The results of the study showed that materialism and impulsiveness are what drove i9500 S4 1:1 cell phone addiction in these university students. "Cell phones are a part of our consumer culture," said James Roberts, Ph.D., author of the study and professor of marketing at Baylor's Hankamer School of Business. "They are not just a consumer tool, but are used as a status symbol. They're also eroding our personal relationships." The preoccupation of social status based on a mobile device and the impulsiveness that derives from sending and receiving instant messages and texts are strong predictors for cell phone addiction.
